swtdeath (Mariana V.I.P): here im going to tell culture tips about finland and finnish peoples behaviour in general.. you can find tips on other finland topics too but dont care :) repeating is the mother of studies! (finnish saying meaning that the more you repeat things, the more you remember them). 05-02-07 - 07:50:57
swtdeath (Mariana V.I.P): when finns meet each others, they dont show any physical connection. we dont do cheek-kisses, hugs or anything like that, not even between friends. in formal situations we shake hands. sometimes in v formal situations after introducing ppl to each others we may also curtsey (girls) or bow down (boys) as we shake hands. its a bit old-fashioned but highly honoured, specially within v important ppl or older ppl. * 05-02-07 - 07:54:44
swtdeath (Mariana V.I.P): when finns have a conversation they usually stay far from each others, like 50cm is a normal distance between two persons talking together. being more close is offensive and makes the finn feel uncomfortable usually. * 05-02-07 - 07:58:15
swtdeath (Mariana V.I.P): about the becoming valentines day: in finland its just the day of friends and friends give each others happy valentines day- cards and maybe v small presents. * 07-02-07 - 09:57:46
swtdeath (Mariana V.I.P): personally i dont like that day at all. too many pink and red things all around :D too much pretending. * 07-02-07 - 09:59:09
