-1armagedon (Mariana Lover): You will need these materials: a glass bowl-a large milk bottle-a candle about 2 and 1/2 in. TALL.

-1armagedon (Mariana Lover): Soften the wax at the bottom of the candle by holding a lighted match under it for a moment 0r two. Then stand the candle in the center of the glass bowl. *

-1armagedon (Mariana Lover): The soften wax will hold the candle in place.Pour water into the bowl to depth of an inch 0r two. *

-1armagedon (Mariana Lover): Light the candle.Turn the bottle upside down above the candle and lower it quickly over the candle.Lower it until the rim of the bottle is resting on the bottom of the bowl. You will see several bubbles of air come from the bottle. Then water will rise in the bottle and put out the candle. *

-1armagedon (Mariana Lover): WHY? The bubbles come from the bottle partly because the candle takes up space and pushes some of the air out of the bottle and partly because the heat of the candle flame makes the air expand and forces some of it out. *
